We have been hearing that the most luxurious ship in the world is being built by Regent Seven Seas. The keel-laying ceremony was this week and as is usual in maritime tradition , three coins were welded into her keel: a rare 1921 U.S. silver coin known as the Peace Dollar to symbolize the safe passage of Seven Seas Explorer; a 1959 silver Italian Lire that represents the year the Fincantieri shipyard was established; and a commemorative coin specially minted for this occasion.
The maiden voyage sailing from Monte Carlo to Venice in July 2016 is already sold out and for her first season, she will remain in Europe. 2017 remains a mystery but I am hoping she will go across the Atlantic and may be add to the sailings from Boston to Montreal or even Alaska – watch this space. In the meantime, if you would like to know more about the Seven Seas Explorer or any other cruises, do get in touch.
From 2016, you will be able to sail to some of the world’s most beautiful places in spacious designer suites, indulge in a decadent treatment at the Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, enjoy live music and enjoy gourmet meals at any time of day. Even the smallest suite is 20 square metres whilst the glorious Regent suite boasts 271 sq.m of living space plus 89 square metres of balcony! It also has an in-suite spa and 2 1/2 bathrooms.
